Rambling Thoughts…

Well as I was trying to think of what to blog next….I was at a loss because there is just too much goin on as we draw near to the wonderful day of Christmas. So to help tide you over, I pray you do not get annoyed like this over the holidays….enjoy.

My stomach was upset. Something was wrong. It just was just unsettling. As I stand in my church service, I look down at the people of the church worshipping God….or so I thought. I look at our giant 16:9 screens and see the words to Chris Tomlin’s new “worship song” Made To Worship. As I read these words to this song I begin to look a round some more. I see I woman with her arms raise singing loud and swaying back and forth, then I wonder to myself, what is she doing? How could she be doing that right now? Does she even know what she is singing about? Here lets read the words:

before the world revolved around the sun
God on High, stepped down into time
and wrote the story of His Love for everyone

Read that. Who are you worshipping? If you can’t guess? I will tell you. You. Me. Us. I. Why is it every-time I start to sing this song, I can’t? Something inside of me tells me to stop. Why are we singing a song of worship to us? Are we not supposed to be worshipping God? Why has our relationship become so “I” focused? Well honestly I think as a religion, church, Christians, whatever, we have become some trained on what is supposed to happen when. I come to church on Sunday, in the beginning we sing songs, and a dude comes out and reads from a big book. What this songs tells me is that when I see people worshipping to it…they are just going through the motions, I am tired of going through the motions. It starts becoming a religion again and less of a relationship. I think that people are becoming soft in their faith. That take that what comes from the stage worship, teaching, announcements as, that is it. This is what it is. Rather than taking what the Pastor has said, reading it, praying about it, and then applying it. Same goes for worship. Not just closing your eyes once the music starts, but really open your eyes to what you are singing, otherwise we will become these mindless drones that are just doing what is “supposed” to be done. It reminds me a lot of a Catholic service. Tradition. Don’t get me wrong traditions are quite beautiful and meaningful, but the meaning gets lost in tradition. I child ask why do we do this, and the parents just say it is what you are supposed to do right now. I would hate to see a church body in a worship service just going through the motions. Making worship times tradition without meaning.

Hey folks a new blog post is on its way! To give you a little update on what has been going on….I have been busy. Holidays+finding a house+touring houses+Work+working for a church during the holidays+getting a house+getting ready to move+helping sister move=Jason has been just a little busy. As you can see in my mathematical equation I and now renting a house with four friends…Pics coming soon (hint next blog post). So with all of that happening I will be moving over the next 2 weeks and I will try to keep you all up to date on what is happening, give you fun little tidbits of information and what nots. Ok.
