Step Into Africa

Well it started this past Friday and it will be here through next week. Step Into Africa is an interactive exhibit where you get to walk through 1 of 4 children’s lives. I have been through one child’s life so far but I plan on walking through the rest. The great thing is that the exhibit is totally free, and you get a taste of what is going on across the ocean. AIDS is real and effects not just us but the world. Tomorrow night is a great event going on at cornerstone call ONE night ONE Life. The night will be centered around spreading the awareness about AIDS in Africa, there is going to be some great speakers and a awesome choir. It should be an awesome event. This whole weekend I am constantly reminded of the time I spent in Africa. I can close my eyes and see the street boys and the kids that changed my life. I close my eyes and can see the AIDS ward we went into and the different smells. Please come and checkout this exhibit, sign up online and come check it out.

Twitter-riffic!

Well because I don’t not have enough web apps in my life, I have added Twitter. What it Twitter you say? This fun little web app is basically a status update about what you may be currently doing. Much like Facebook’s status updates but a little more. You can text your status update to twitter or do it from GTalk (Another thing everyone should sign up for). I have been on a few different blogs where people have it and they seem to use it all the time, so I thought I would check it out. So if you want to know what I am doing at any point in time just go on-line and check My Twitter. Although it will only work if I actually update it. Why even have this you say? No real reason just something to do. Check it out and maybe sign up, and add me.

Too Much Britney

Well tonight was another disappointing night of television. I sat surfing through the channels only to find re-runs and older movies no one really cares about like Dante’s Peak. One of the thing I am getting tired of seeing and hear about is Britney Spears.

I tell you she has tv shows and news segments just to talk about her problems. I mean come on people, how much Brit do we need. Honestly I think back when she was some what normal and remember being not impressed. O how I wish we could go back to those days. Being a pop icon apparently is not enough. Does she do it to be remembered? Who knows…honestly I think in the years to come she will be a footnote in the pages of music history. Do we need to hear about every little thing she does? And what I think is funny is everyone who does a report or a show about her says they are tired of her. (To my own realization, just like this blog post.) Then why keep reporting….ratings? Or is it just because there is nothing better on? Thank God the writers strike is almost over so there will be something on the TV besides Britney Spears.
